Watch out, Schonach, Germany! And Sugarcreek, Ohio! And other places throughout Germany, Argentina, Japan, and the United States that are home to potentially Guiness World Record-holding, oversized cuckoo clocks. Kellogg’s has a new cereal, and the only way to make you eat it is to destroy your hometown pride. Kellogg’s has announced that it’s promoting its newest line of cereals by erecting a 66-foot cuckoo clock that could kick your cuckoo clock’s ass any day of the week!

Kellogg’s, you’re on watch: if these new cereals don’t live up to the grandeur and unspoken promises of a three-story cuckoo clock, I’m going to be very, very disappointed in you.

Okay, so I’m being a bit melodramatic here, but really, what could be worthy of such a ludicrous promotion? Well, read on…

“To bring this iconic brand to the U.S., we wanted a symbol that represented the ‘It’s Morning Somewhere(TM)’ campaign and the enormity of the launch. … Creating this immense clock and generating an exciting experience for consumers is a fun way to introduce Kellogg’s® Crunchy Nut(TM) cereal in the U.S. and bring our campaign to life.”

“Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut cereal?” Okay, no points for creativity on the name, but surely the cereal itself will be something fresh and different.

“With a blend of delicious honey and pieces of nuts in every crunchy bite, Kellogg’s® Crunchy Nut(TM) cereal is available in two flavors – Golden Honey Nut and Roasted Nut and Honey.

Golden Honey Nut features golden corn flakes drizzled with honey and topped with real peanuts. Roasted Nut and Honey features corn and oat Os topped with roasted peanuts and honey.”

What a concept! Kellogg’s has really… hey, wait a minute:

Oh, Kellogg’s…

Crunchy Nut Cereal will be available nationwide starting in February. The Kellogg Company’s full press release can be read at PRNewswire.

  • Katie

I was just thinking the other day of those old Nut & Honey commercials, and how there was a greeting card where the guy is eating a bowl of Nut ‘n’ Bitch cereal.

    • Heh, I was thinking of that greeting card (actually, I think I saw it on a t-shirt) the whole time I was writing this.
