Tastes a lot like Berry Berry Kix, surprisingly, which is not a bad thing. Still, considering the licensing, you’d think the flavor would be a little more “out there”—something tropical, maybe!

Sweet, but not overly so. Again, think of Berry Berry Kix.

As crisp as any other shaped puff cereal.

Here’s where the cereal really shines—the cereal is bright and colorful, and the pieces are shaped like little yellow sponges and pink starfish. It’s cute and happy!

Just look at the front of that box! Nickelodeon has really done branding right with SpongeBob, allowing designers to really get crazy and creative with packaging on licensed products. The best example I ever saw was a delightfully-extreme image on the front of a box of Kraft macaroni and cheese instead of just a boring, corporate-approved promotional image. Try getting away with a face like that with another product and show!

Overall, not bad, even if on the whole the flavor was a little bland, as branded kids cereals tend to be. Perhaps it has less sugar as an attempt to convince moms and whiny activists that it’s not the worst cereal kids could be eating? Who knows.
