Voting on preliminary rounds 1-8 has finished, and here are the exciting results:

Cereal Fix 2014 Greatest Cereal March Madness Elite 8 bracket

There were some close calls—Fruity Pebbles and Frosted Flakes were neck and neck up to the end of the competition where Frosted Flakes just edged out its prehistoric competitor. Cap’n Crunch and Frosted Mini-Wheats likewise were in a dead heat up until the end, when Frosted Mini-Wheats seemingly came out of nowhere for a victory no one expected—could Crunch Berries have helped the Cap’n’s chances?

In a victory everyone did expect, however, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Reese’s Puffs each trounced their respective competition, and though Cheerios may not be moving on, its Honey Nut variety, in a surprise twist, took on and defeated Golden Crisp handily.

Other results included victories for crowd-favorite Honey Graham Oh’s! over Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes over Fruity Pebbles, Count Chocula over Froot Loops, and Lucky Charms over Honey Smacks—looks like this year, you don’t dig ’em.

And now, with all that said, voting on the Elite Eight has commenced! Make your voice heard by voting below.

Voting ends tomorrow (March 13th) at 1:00 PM EDT, where we’ll decide the semi-finalists and continue the competition from there. So get to it!
